What does this fat giraffe have to do with Law of Attraction and our quote for the day? I’m not exactly sure, but it just felt right. See what you think. Let us turn our attention to the Law of Attraction progress of a student from the last century to a fantastic quote from Wallace d. Wattles:
“I recall the case of one student who was told that he must get in mind a clear picture of the things had desired, so that the creative thought of them might be impressed on Formless Substance.
He was a very poor man, living in a rented house, and having only what he earned from day to day; and he could not grasp the fact that all this wealth was his. So after thinking the matter over, he decided that he might reasonably ask for a new rug for the floor of his best room, and an anthracite coal stove to heat the house during the cold weather.
Following the instructions given in this book, he obtained these things in a few months; and then it dawned upon him that he had not asked enough. He went through the house in which he lived, and planned all the improvements he would like to make in it. He mentally added a bay window here and a room there, until it was complete in his mind as his ideal home, and then he planned the furnishings.
Holding the whole picture in his mind, he began living in the Certain Way, and moving toward what he wanted, and he owns the house now, and is rebuilding after the forms of his mental image. And now, with still larger faith, he is going on to get greater things. It has been unto him according to his faith, and it is so with you, and with all of us.”
–Wallace D. Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich, 1910.
If you are not familiar with the work of our late Law of Attraction friend, Mr. Wallace d. Wattles, it is worth noting that it is his book, The Science of Getting Rich, that originally inspired Rhonda Byrne of The Secret to begin her project.
This is probably my favorite passage from Wallace d. Wattles book, The Science of Getting Rich, and actually probably one of my favorite Law of Attraction passages from anywhere, so aptly does it demonstrate how doing things in the “Certain Way” (coming from a place of connection and positive anticipation) can work beautifully for even the most skeptical and currently bitter among us.
Let’s just say you’ve been trying like crazy to manifest your car, your girl (or boy), and your millions, and you’re not having any more luck with Law of Attraction than you were with the old-fashioned ways of just trying to beg, borrow, steal, or earn these things. Why not borrow a page from Wattles’ student and manifest a rug to start with?
Or something like that. I don’t know. Would your life be easier with a new printer?
I get that maybe you’re not ready to become as Fat with Abundance as the giraffe in this picture (or to be fat under any circumstances), so know that it is more than okay to start small. It’s actually a brilliant strategy if you’re having some doubts or feeling some static.
I know a lot of people in the Law of Attraction community who spend a lot of time eliminating and clearing negative beliefs (and paying a lot of money to have others magically remove them), and this is also a perfectly good strategy, if it’s helping and making you feel good.
However, it’s also good to know that Law of Attraction is always happy to work with you right where you are, negative limiting beliefs and all.
BTW If you have not read The science of Getting Rich by Wallace d. Wattles, I highly recommend it!
